Canyon Tour

private canyon tour

Our guesthouse is located around 100m next to the Weru Weru river, a river that originates from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and flows down into the lowlands, eventually merging with the Pangani River. The river is surrounded by lush vegetation and forests that provide habitat for a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and reptiles.

The River is one of the most picturesque around Kilimanjaro. Although the river has some stunning canyons and waterfalls it is largely unknown and you will never find any other tourists around.

The canyon of Weru Weru has towering cliffs that rise over 100 meters above the river. Visitors can hike along the canyon trails, which offer breathtaking views of the river and surrounding landscape. The canyon walls are made of volcanic rock, which has been eroded over millions of years by the flowing waters of the river.

The Weru Weru River is also home to several waterfalls and offers perfect pools for swimming. Visitors can hike to the waterfall through lush forests, passing by coffee plantations and local villages along the way.

The Weru Weru River is also a great place for watching wildlife, with over 200 species of birds that have been recorded in the area. Some of the most common animals include the African fish eagle, black and white colobus monkey, and the red-tailed monkey.

Overall, the Weru Weru River and its canyons and waterfalls offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty and diversity of Kilimanjaro.
