Zanzibar is diverse and has a lot different to offer between Stone Town, the touristic North, the party Eastcoast and its wild South

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous region in Tanzania consisting of the Northern island of Pemba and the Southern island of Unguja. When you normally talk about Zanzibar you are referring to the Southern island of Unguja and so are we when we talk about Zanzibar on this page.

Stella as well as Florian have lived in Zanzibar and among others have built, owned and managed a hotel.
All the existing contacts and the uptodate knowledge of the island relates to this.

If you want us to organize your Zanzibar visit you can be sure to receive what you ask for.

The reality in Zanzibar differs a lot from the image of the marketing posters and expectations of visitors are often disappointed.
Good service is scarce and when it comes to food and accomodation high quality is very expensive.

Over the decades mass tourism has left its traces and especially hospitality has suffered. Guests are often seen as cash cows only. That is a shame as the beautiful island and its very friendly people can make a Zanzibar experience unforgettable.

It is possible to see the island from its most beautiful side and get to know its wonderful people.
It is important though, that we talk about it in advance, so we can plan your trip with the best local operators.

We have some of the most amazing memories of Zanzibar and want to share those with you!

Some of the options for Zanzibar are:

  • culture
  • ocean
  • Stone Town or coast
  • luxury hotel
  • visiting remote villages
  • relaxation
  • kiting
  • kayaking
  • dolphins
  • spice tours
  • fishing and spear fishing
  • foot walks in Jozani Forest National Park

Depending on your expectation you can calculate between 20€ to 500€ per person per day..

Traveling by yourself can be challenging, especially as a woman in a conservative country like Tanzania. Let us make it a remarkable journey.

We love kids, but neither all tours, nor all hotels are suitable for them. Especially when you want them to roam freely. Places like our Kilimanjaro Lodge are perfect for kids.

on a budget

Tanzania is one of the purest countries yet one of the most expensive to travel in. We have been young before and can give you some tips how to save money

senior adventurer

This is for you when you are still curious to see the world, but do not want to compromise on comfort and individual service and do not mind to spend some more.

I went on a trip with Django tours from Daressalam to Kipili at Lake Tanganyika. We travelled in an offroader through the country and had a great time! The guides always knew the best spots and helped us in getting around safely. If you fancy an individual Tanzania adventure with nice people, you should definitely travel with these guys.
