Staying in Zanzibar was totally relaxing and wonderful. The lodge was set up and decorated in a simple and very tasteful way. The food was Tanzanian style and amazing. It was a great place to just hang out and read in our own space in front of the accomodation. At the same time it was possible to engage with other visitors at the open-air lounge or take part in several nature activities. Especially Stella’s talent of having everything well organised and having an eye on everything was remarkable.
Tarangire was the perfect safari trip for a quick and still exciting encounter with Tanzanian wildlife. The landscape is stunning and we saw lots of elephants, giraffes, gazelles, warthogs, a leopard and colorful birds. Chacha, our guide was very knowledgable and made this trip an unforgettable experience.
Climbing Mt Meru was a humbling experience and scary at first as I have never climbed a moutnain that high (6400m). I wasn’t sure what to expect. The guides and their team though were amazing and so knowledgeable that I completely trusted them to guide us up the mountain and back down again safely. The most amazing memories from this climb are the views on Mt Kilimanscharo from Little Meru and the steep ridges at the peak with the clouds rushing over them.
Looking back on this climb I still get goosebumps reliving this incredible experience. After the exhausting climb of Mt Meru it seemed almost imposible to climb 1600m higher to the top of Africa. The exceptional organisation, the very trustworthy team of guides and the mind-blowing presence of Kilimanscharo itself made this trip an unforgettable and breath-taking experience.
I joined Florian (owner of Django Tours), 3 fellow travellers and 3 Berbers (indigenous population of the Moroccan desert) in an organized trip through the Sahara. After arriving in Marrakesh, I was picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel which was a nice and also very authentic Morrocan hotel in the city center. After a short city tour and a local dinner we prepared for the upcoming days: the real adventure. The next day we travelled to Mhamid, the last town before the desert. To my surprise, we spend the night in a desert hostel, a very exciting camp composed of clay huts at the edge of the Sahara. (highly recommended!). If you are bored of identical 5* hotels around the world, this is your place to go. In the following days, we hiked through the desert, flanked by a group of camels and the three Berbers who were some of the best hosts I have ever met. They were all very kind and attentive. But this was not a pure “guest” and “host” relationship. It was more like friends sharing a great experience. We discussed a lot about our view on life and culture but also laughed a lot. And we are still in touch via Facebook and WhatsApp. Without Florian and Django Tours, we would have never met. As the desert is a unique opportunity to reflect on life in an extremely calm setting, Florian not only focused on the “entertainment” part of the trip but also spend time discussing our objectives in life with us (e.g. career objectives) and gave us very useful feedback for our personal development. For us, this trip was not only an adventure but also a very important step of our personal development. During the nights, we slept under the open sky and watched the stars. It was unbelievable: I had never seen such a clear sky and such bright stars before. Even though the infrastructure was obviously limited in the middle of the desert, Florian’s team always cooked very tasty local food for us. I have to stress the excellent local Tajine (e.g., with chicken, vegetables, potatoes) and the self-made bread, prepared in the Sahara! If you are looking for a authentic local experience (something you cannot find when booking with a typical tour operator) and for a real adventure in a safe and well-organized setting, this is the right choice for you. I can only recommend it and I am already planning my next adventure trip with Florian and Django Tours
I had a wonderfull Sahara Trip, 5 days trough the Desert. Well organized, fantastic guides and felt always very safe. Communication was perfect. Thanks to Floh and Yaya.
I climbed Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanscharo with Django Tours and it was an unforgettable experience. Both ascents were accompanied by guides who were very confident and knowledgeable about what to expect from the climbs and they prepared us very well. Everybody in the group – porters, cooks and guides were super-friendly, funny and there was a great sense of belonging, especially on the Kili tour.
The organisation of the tour was impeccable and the accomodations in between were very well picked. In between the two climbs we went on a one-day safari to Tarangire, which was the perfect thing to do to rest our legs and have a wonderful insight into Tanzanian wildlife with lots of elephants, gazelles, giraffes, warthogs and colorful birds. Spending your holiday experiencing breath-taking moments on Mt Meru and Mt Kilimajaro are unforgettable in itself and it was a trip of a lifetime. Booking it with the Djanog Tour Team was a great decision. They are very forthcoming and accomodating and do everything they can to give you an unforgettable experience. I’d always book with them again!
Our Sahara tour was amazing. Good organization, very competent guides, breathtaking experiences. If you are ready to move off the beaten path and experience something really new and special then this is the place for you. The perfect surrounding made it possible to really enjoy the special impressions. Thanks and keep it up!
I went on a trip with Django tours from Daressalam to Kipili at Lake Tanganyika. We travelled in an offroader through the country and had a great time! The guides always knew the best spots and helped us in getting around safely. If you fancy an individual Tanzania adventure with nice people, you should definitely travel with these guys.
It has become my second home. I loved the friendly people and diverse landscapes of Tanzania instantly after my first visit 12 years ago. Come and explore on endless adventures this country – you will not get enough, like me, and come back with your friends.
Django Tour is the tour operator I would choose for my first time venture of Tanzania.
