Going on safari in Tanzania is an amazing experience that you won’t forget. Tanzania has some of the best national parks and game reserves in Africa, such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Our personal favorite is visiting Mkomazi Nationalpark after summiting Kilimanjaro. One of the best things about going on safari in Tanzania is that you can see the Great Wildebeest Migration. This yearly event is when millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the Serengeti to find new grazing lands, and are followed closely by predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Apart from the wildlife, Tanzania’s diverse landscapes are also a highlight of any safari. From the vast grasslands of the Serengeti to the rugged beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater, there’s something for everyone who loves nature. Overall, going on safari in Tanzania is an amazing adventure that gives you a unique chance to see some of the most incredible wildlife in the world, right in their natural habitat. If you want to see Tanzania’s magnificent nature, you have plenty of choices. Tanzania’s national parks are spread around the country, and most of them are quite unknown but may be more suited to your personal experience depending on what you’re looking for. TANAPA, the Tanzania National Park Authority, manages 22 national parks covering an area of 99,306.50 km2 (38,342 sq mi), approximately the land area of Croatia, or 15% of Tanzania’s landmass.

Traveling Tanzania

Zanzibar is diverse and has a lot different to offer between Stone Town, the touristic North, the party Eastcoast and its wild South

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous region in Tanzania consisting of the Northern island of Pemba and the Southern island of Unguja. When you normally talk about Zanzibar you are referring to the Southern island of Unguja and so are we when we talk about Zanzibar on this page.

Stella as well as Florian have lived in Zanzibar and among others have built, owned and managed a hotel.
All the existing contacts and the uptodate knowledge of the island relates to this.

If you want us to organize your Zanzibar visit you can be sure to receive what you ask for.

The reality in Zanzibar differs a lot from the image of the marketing posters and expectations of visitors are often disappointed.
Good service is scarce and when it comes to food and accomodation high quality is very expensive.

Over the decades mass tourism has left its traces and especially hospitality has suffered. Guests are often seen as cash cows only. That is a shame as the beautiful island and its very friendly people can make a Zanzibar experience unforgettable.

It is possible to see the island from its most beautiful side and get to know its wonderful people.
It is important though, that we talk about it in advance, so we can plan your trip with the best local operators.

We have some of the most amazing memories of Zanzibar and want to share those with you!

We love kids, but neither all tours, nor all hotels are suitable for them. Especially when you want them to roam freely. Places like our Kilimanjaro Lodge are perfect for kids.

Traveling with budget to Africa
Tanzania is one of the purest countries yet one of the most expensive to travel in. We have been young before and can give you some tips how to save money.

This is for you when you are still curious to see the world, but do not want to compromise on comfort and individual service and do not mind to spend some more.

Outstanding care and support to get you to the summit(s)

My sincerest thanks to Django Tours (Florian and Estella) and our fantastic guides Chacha, Kim, Daudi, the other assistant guides, the amazing porters and all the camp helpers, who organized and executed everything around and during this recent trip to Mt Meru and Mt Kilimaniaro! Before, between, and after the mountains, I stayed at Django’s Adventure Safari Lodge in Machame, a clean and simple quest house with the most beautiful lush valley just behind the property, …
