Outstanding care and support to get you to the summit(s)

My sincerest thanks to Django Tours (Florian and Estella) and our fantastic guides Chacha, Kim, Daudi, the other assistant guides, the amazing porters and all the camp helpers, who organized and executed everything around and during this recent trip to Mt Meru and Mt Kilimaniaro! Before, between, and after the mountains, I stayed at Django’s Adventure Safari Lodge in Machame, a clean and simple quest house with the most beautiful lush valley just behind the property, …

Freedom

This year I went on Mount Meru, Safari and Kilimanjaro with Django.Tours.One of the first things that comes to mind when I think about the trip is: “Freedom”. A very special form of freedom: freedom from everyday life, the constraints of civilization with all modern achievements. On the hikes you are forced to deal with yourself…

Coffee & Tea Tasting

Coffee & Tea Tasting

If you’re a coffee lover or just curious about the coffee-making process, then a coffee tour at Kilimanjaro is a must-do activity. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain peak in Africa, is home to some of the finest coffee plantations in Tanzania.

If you are tea lover we can offer something as well. Although the climate is optimal for growing tea, Kilimanjaro is traditional coffee land. There is however one hidden tea plantation with extraordinary good tea.

Coffee & Tea Tour

The coffee & tea tour at Kilimanjaro is a unique experience that offers you the chance to explore the history, culture, and making of some of the best coffee in the world. The tour is designed to provide an authentic experience that is both informative and entertaining. The tour usually takes about half a day and begins with a visit to a local coffee and tea farm. Here, you’ll be introduced to the coffee and tea plants and learn about the different types grown in the area. You’ll also have the opportunity to see how the coffee and tea is harvested and processed.

The coffee farms at Kilimanjaro are run by local farmers who are passionate about producing high-quality coffee. The farmers take great pride in the coffee they produce, and they’re always eager to share their knowledge and expertise with visitors. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the farmers, ask questions, and learn about their daily lives. This is a great way to get a sense of the local culture and customs.

We will also have a look at the tea and coffee factory where the harvest is dried and produced into the final product.

The Coffee & Tea Tasting

The coffee tour is not just about learning the process of coffee making, but it’s also a sensory experience. We will have a tea and coffee tasting at the end of the visit and of course you will have the possibility to buy tea and coffee at producer prices.

A coffee & tea tour at Kilimanjaro is an unforgettable experience that every coffee & tea lover should try. It’s an opportunity to learn about the process of coffee & tea making and also indulge in some of the finest coffee & tea in Tanzania. The tour provides visitors with an authentic experience that is both informative and entertaining. So, if you’re planning a trip to Kilimanjaro, make sure you add a coffee & tea tour to your itinerary. You won’t regret it!

The River is one of the most picturesque around Kilimanjaro. Although the river has some stunning canyons and waterfalls it is largely unknown and you will never find any other tourists around.

The canyon of Weru Weru has towering cliffs that rise over 100 meters above the river. Visitors can hike along the canyon trails, which offer breathtaking views of the river and surrounding landscape. The canyon walls are made of volcanic rock, which has been eroded over millions of years by the flowing waters of the river.

The Weru Weru River is also home to several waterfalls and offers perfect pools for swimming. Visitors can hike to the waterfall through lush forests, passing by coffee plantations and local villages along the way.

The Weru Weru River is also a great place for watching wildlife, with over 200 species of birds that have been recorded in the area. Some of the most common animals include the African fish eagle, black and white colobus monkey, and the red-tailed monkey.

Overall, the Weru Weru River and its canyons and waterfalls offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty and diversity of Kilimanjaro.
